Hey Buff,
Lost power last night at 8 PM, so this computer which was on, crashed.
When power was restored, turned on the puter again, and my active
desktop went into it's mode of saying to restore, click on "this link".
Well it didn't - so I went into my programs and found system restorer,
clicked it, and the date it gave to restore was the same time and date
this thing went down, the calendar would not let me click another
previous date, no matter what block I checked, so I clicked it, it did
it's restore and gives me the error message and the white screen same as
before - and I still do not have a active desktop - any ideas?
Windows XP Home, AMD Sempron Processor 3400+ with 1.4 GB Ram

Click
Start-->Control Panel-->Performance and Maintenance--->Sytem
icon....Click on Advance Tab under Performance Click "Settings"...to get
to "Visual Effects" tab---Select Let windows choose what's best.
This will return your desktop to original visual settings that was
install for your display, then you can set up the background as usual by
right clicking over the desktop and choosing "properties".

Hi
I have a compaq desk top computer that I do not have the c.d. to load a
new hard drive onto.
Can you tell me how to acquire this from the internet.
I am not very literate where it comes to such things.
I have ordered the hard drive and it should arrive soon.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
