We are thinking about maybe selling home and travelling and living in
motorhome for a time. Question is how do we use computers while not in
a permanent place. I have heard about wireless but know nothing about
it or how it is used. We would purchase a laptop to make it less
combersome. Any advice would be appreciated.

buffalo says here is a half million wi-fi hot spots world wide and there
are hundreds of directories available on Google. Some are pay and many
are free if you are using the servicees of a restaurant or coffee shop
for example. The other option is a digital receiver much the same as a
satellite dish mounted on your motorhome and they are rather pricey.
Less pricey is using your 4G phone as a modem but bandwidth can add upo
real fast and there is usually a dongle or connector required.

Hi Bill,
I don't know how to reply to the people in the Nerdy when I have
the answer. But I had the same problem with Ashampoo as Mo, so I do know
how to get rid of it. Please send this in to the proper place and in the
proper way so that Mo can get rid of Bing and have Google back where it
belongs. Bing just about drove me crazy too! It takes over like a
tapeworm and drives a person crazy!!! Thanks. Cool breezes and warm

Happy 4th of July to you all!
I have a problem which I cannot get rid of! I fooled around
one day and d/l installed a Ashampoo thingy then decided I didn't want
it. I removed the program but the dat-gum bar will not go! It bumps
Google and even though I change it back to Google. Ashampoo (Bing)
will not go away! I want to turn on my computer and Google show up
again!
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say... it's
frustrating when you don't know the terminology!!!

Some things you can try
Look in add / remove programs for bing. It is a Microsoft program.
on the toolbar there is an X on the bar. if you click on the x it will
ask if you want to disable it and the loader for it. If there is no x
try going into IE manage
add ons and disable it there

Hi Mo,
I believe I can help you with your Ashampoo (Bing) problem. This is
what worked for me and it was a permanent fix, so it should work for
you.
I have a teenaged son, who loved Bing once upon a time. However, it
is my computer & I am known to be an extremely selfish and very
unreasonable person, from time to time. After I threatened to delete
all of his precious music files, ring tones, video games, etc ... (and
other assorted stuff that teenaged boys think they can hide on their
mom's computer) he conceded that I DID have the absolute right to delete
anything that I wanted, from MY computer, & that perhaps he could live
without Bing after all.
I did get plenty of experience in getting rid of Ashampoo (Bing)
on a regular basis while our negotiations were in progress, though.
Here'[s how I did it....
If you do not already have Crap Cleaner (CCleaner) on your computer,
please go to
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
and download the latest (and free) version. Install it please.
Then...
Open CCleaner.
Click on 'Tools'. Scroll down the left hand side until you find the
program named Ashampoo or Bing (I've seen it both ways).
Highlight it. On the right side you will see more labeled boxes.
Click on: 'Run Uninstaller'. and it will delete everything that is
Ashampoo and/or Bing from your computer. You won't have to look all
through the computer to find all of the bits & pieces that get scattered
around.
Since you are already deleting a program that you don't want or
hate, scroll through all of the programs and get rid of the ones you
don't want.
Caveat... Make sure you know what you are deleting!!! Do NOT
delete anything if you do not know what it does!!! You can and will
damage your computer that way. If you are not sure, it is better to just
leave it there until you are 100% sure that you don't need/want that
program.
Once you are have completed getting rid of programs that you want
gone, find the word "Registry" on the left and open.
After opening; 'Scan For Issues'. Then "Fix ALL Selected Issues".
Now, you are ready to clean house.
Open the Cleaner (top word left side) and click on either either
'Analyze' or 'Run Cleaner'.
I generally skip the analysis, cuz I know things are a mess. If they
weren't a mess, I wouldn't be asking CCleaner to fix things for me.
After CCleaner has finished running, I go back to the top and click
on 'Applications' and run the cleaner there as well.
When all of this is done, your computer is pretty clean and should
only need to be defragged at it's normal time. Unless you are one that
rarely or never defrags. In that case, I strongly suggest that you
defrag once you are done, to complete your house cleaning.
