Sorry Ross someone sold you a computer with aproduct key
that has been used more than once and Microsoft will not
validate it to you if it is being used by someone else. Their
efforts to get you to purchase another copy can get obnoxious too
with lots of pop-ups and slow loading of the program and they
even disable the program at times because they do consider
it stolen software. I suggested several places to you where you
could purchase a used copy and hopefully Amazon has one for
less than retail.

Hello, Folks... Ross here! ))o;
I got hacked about a month or so ago... As a result, my
C drive couldn't be salvaged. I'm using the puter purchased
at a pawn shop. (D drive is xferred into it as E)
Problem: It will not accept MY registration -- says it was
used in another puter. I cannot get online with the OLD puter
to "de-register" it.
It will not accept the pawn shop puter's registration. Says
"Registered in another name."
As a result, Media Player will NOT update, my CD will NOT
store anything, or even play a commercial CD!
Nor, obviously will Win XP download any updates!
SUGGESTIONS, por favor...
As always, Buff, if anybody can talk me through it, you have
my ok to pass along my email for direct communications. Sorta
"Cut out the middle man!"
Yer Hillbilly friend in TN....

Greetings Bufffalo,
I have a desktop and a laptop that are connected by a router; both have
Yahoo as a home page and a Google toolbar. Here is a problem that I
have tried unsuccessfully to solve: On my desktop, I can click the
Google toolbar and all of my Google searches from the past year or so
will drop down on the menu, and I can access them from there. However,
on my laptop, the same action gets only the last 12 or so results on the
drop down menu; if I seach something else, the last of the searches will
disappear and the new one will be added to the top of the list. I have
tried in vain to figure out how to restore the search history on the
laptop, and I wonder what I did to allow it to remain on my desktop and
disappear from my laptop. Do you or any of your readers have a clue as
to what is going on? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Greg in Carp
