What browser are you using? Java is like Flash, it makes web pages
do more. It is also one of the things that the bad guys are using
to infect computers. As long as you're seeing the web pages you
want correctly it isn't an issue. If you're not seeing the pages
you want correctly you will need a browser that supports Java and to
have Java installed. You can get the current version of Java from
http://www.java.com/en/, it is free.
Firefox has an add on called No Script that turns Java off by
default and allows you to turn it on for specific sites.

and various graphics. If you only use your computer for email and
surfing you probably don't need it.

Buff, I keep getting a rundll error message and I click ok and
everything still works fine just pisses me off. Help!!!
Dell Dimension 4700c/xp home. I did change how my computer boots up.
I went back to what I read was the fastest way.Plenty of free space.
