Dynamic Tower
Visionary architect Dr. David Fisher is the creator of the revolutionary Dynamic Tower, the world's first building in motion. The Dynamic Tower heralds a new era of architecture: Buildings in motion will challenge traditional architecture, becoming the symbol of a new philosophy that will change the look of our cities and the concept of living.
The Dynamic Tower is environmentally friendly, with the ability to generate electricity for itself as well as other buildings nearby making it the first building designed to be self-powered, it achieves this feat with wind turbines fitted between each rotating floor. An 80-story building will have up to 79 wind turbines, making it a true green power plant.
The Dynamic Tower is also the first skyscraper to be built entirely from prefabricated parts that are custom made in a workshop, resulting of fast construction and of substantial cost savings . this approach known as the Fisher Method, also requires far less workers on construction site while each floor of the building can be completed in only seven days, units can also be customized according to the owners needs and styles
“From now on, buildings will have four dimensions, the fourth dimension is ‘Time' to become part of architecture,” Dr. Fisher added. “Buildings in motion will shape the sky line of our cities.
By combining motion, green energy and efficient construction, the Dynamic Tower will change architecture as we know it, and will start a new era of Dynamic Living.

koi jo mila to... Shankar
Hindi Movie/Album Name: BREATHLESS (ALBUNM)
Singer(s): SHANKAR MAHADEVAN
Hindi Lyrics:
Koi jo mila to mujhe aisa lagta tha
jaise meri saari duniya main geeton ki rut
aur rangon ki barkha hai khushbu ki aakdhi hai
mahki hui si ab saari fizaayen hain
bahki hui si ab saari hawaayen hain
khoyi hui si ab saari dishaayen hain
badli hui se ab saari adaayen hain
jaagi ummengein hain, dhadak raha ahi dil
sapnon main toofaan hain, hoton pe nagme hain
aakhon main sapne hain, sapnon main beete hue
se vo saare lamhe hain
jab koi aaya tha, jazron pe chhaya tha
dil main samaya tha, kaise main bataun tumhe
kaise use paaya tha, pyaar ke chehre pe bikhri jo julphen
to aisa lagta tha jaise kohre ke peechhe
ek os main dhula hua phool khila hai jaise
badal main ik chaand chhupa hai
aur jhaank raha hai jaise raat ke parde main
ek savera hai roshan roshan aakhon main
sapnon ka saagar jismain prem sitaron ki chaadar
jaise jhalak rahi hai
lahron lahron baat kare to jaise moti barse
jaise kahin chandi ki payal goonjey
jaise kahin sheeshe main jaam girey
aur chhann se tootey jaise koi chhip ke sitaar bajaye
jaise koi chaandni raat main gaye
jaise koi hole se paas bulaye
kaisi meethi baatain thee
vo kaisi mulakaatein thee
vo jab maine jaana tha
jazron se kaise pighalte hain dil
aur aarzoo paati hai kaise manzil
aur kaise utarta hai chaand jameen par
kaise kabhi lagta hai swarg agar hai
to bas hai yahin par
usne bulaya mujhe, aur samjhaya mujhe
hum jo mile hain, hamain aise hi milna tha
gul jo khile hain, unhe aise hi khilna tha
janmo ke bandhan, janmo ke rishtey hain
jab bhi hum janme to hum yahin milte hain
kaanon main mere jaise, shahed sa ghulne lage
khwaabon ke dar jaise aakhon main khulne lage
khwaabon ki duniya bhi kitni haseen aur
kaisi rangeen thee khwaabon ki duniya
jo kahne ko thee par kahin bhi nahi thee
khwaab jo toote mere, aakh jo khuli meri
hosh jo aaya mujhe
maine dekha maine jaana
vo jo kabhi aaya tha, nazron pe chhaya tha
dil main samaya tha, ja bhi chuka hai
aur dil mera ab hai tanha tanha
na to koi armaan hai, na koi tamanna hai
aur na koi sapna hai
ab jo mere din aur ab jo meri ratain hain
unmain sirf aansoon hain
unmain seif dard ki ranj ki batain hain
aur pharyaadein hain
mera ab bhi koi nahi main hoon aur khoye
hue pyaar ki yaadein hain (3)
Eight things!
|
Salam Alekum dear brothers & sisters,
You have accompanied me for a long period of time, so what have you learnt? |
|
He replied : "Eight things"
|
|
The first: I looked at the creation and found that every person has something that is beloved to him, but when that person reaches his grave, his beloved would be separated from him. So I made the most beloved thing to me my righteous deeds, so that they may be with me in my grave. |
|
The second: I looked at the saying of Allah the Elevated: |
|
The Third: I saw that whoever possessed something valuable would keep it in a safe and secure place, I then looked at the saying of Allah the Glorified:
|
|
The Fourth: I saw that people return to wealth, lineage and nobility, and they are all worthless, so I looked at the saying of Allah the Glorified: |
|
The Fifth: I saw that people envy each other, so I looked at the saying of the Elevated: |
|
The Sixth: I saw them taking each other as enemies, so I looked at the saying of the Glorified: |
|
The Seventh: I saw that they humiliate themselves in pursuing provision, so I looked at the saying of Allah the Glorified: |
|
The Eighth: I saw them dependent upon their trades, professions and health, so I depended upon Allah the Glorified. |

Work From Home, Save The Environment

1. Work From Home, Save The Environment
Sun Microsystems has presented evidence that telecommuting is not just a convenience for workers who wish to dispense with the morning routine of struggling to find something to wear, then fighting traffic or braving the gauntlet of public transportation. Sun just released the results of its Open Work Energy Measurement Project, a survey of its employees aimed at finding out just how beneficial its flexible scheduling policies are by calculating the difference in the environmental impact of commuting to an office versus working from home. It found that 98 percent of each employee's carbon footprint for work came from his or her commute. By staying home for half of a five-day workweek, the average employee reduced his or her job-related energy use by 5400 kilowatt-hours per year. Commuting half as much also saved each worker $1700 per year in fuel and other auto-related costs, and allowed them to regain more than two weeks that would otherwise be lost to traffic snarls or waits at train stations.
2. Achievement Trumps Tenure
Employers no longer take it for granted that X years on the job equate to a certain level of skill or accomplishment. They want to know what you did to improve a process, eliminate a bottleneck, or otherwise exercise leadership. According to a Business Week article, "Once you crack the code to making positive change in your workplace, you won't have to use the trite phrase "value added" in your résumé. You'll have plenty of specific accomplishments to crow about." The article suggests making a list of the things you've learned and significant achievements during your tenure at your job. These will be the things you emphasize on your resume and in an interview--or work to build upon if the list is too short.
3. Managing Your World
"I've got a thousand things to do today," you say to yourself as you arrive at your desk. Where to start is often the hardest decision to make. A California Job Journal article offers some tips for staying on top of your to-do list. These include counterintuitive moves such as avoiding multitasking, which is a productivity killer, and daring to be slow--at least when it comes to responding to e-mail while working on a higher-priority task. When you do get around to checking e-mail, do so on a set schedule, and take the action necessary (like adding an item to your calendar) to ensure that you need to read each message only once.
4. Canadian Companies Open Labs to Schoolchildren
A coalition of Canadian companies, including Bell Canada, Rogers Communications, Nortel Networks and IBM Canada, plans to create a lab sharing program wherein they will make their research facilities and resources available to IT students in high school and college on weeknights and weekends. The firms are concerned about skill shortages they say will result in a shortfall of nearly 90 000 workers in science, technology, engineering, and math within three to five years. They hope the move and plans to promote IT careers through media relations campaigns, television and radio broadcasts, the Internet, and efforts to educate elementary and high school counselors about the breadth of opportunities in IT will result in heightened interest among young students.

Experience Still the Best Teacher

2. Women, Minorities More Flexible About Work Schedules
3. Slaying the Dragons Within
4. New U.S. Rules Incite Court Skirmish Over Foreign Tech Workers

1. Experience Still the Best Teacher
Though companies spend more than US $100 billion a year on formal training
courses for their employees, the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL)
reports that only about 10 percent of the knowledge that people need in
order to become effective managers and executives is learned in the
classroom. A Business Week article notes that the lion's share comes from
experience in challenging job assignments where "the demands of the job pull
the person to develop new skills and not just rely on successful habits of
the past." Certain types of assignments induce this "demand-pull" more than
others. The article lists seven, including first-time international
assignments, which often require the person to learn a new language, adjust
to different cultural norms, and improve his or her interpersonal relations
skills.
2. Women, Minorities More Flexible About Work Schedules
Over the past decade, U.S. companies have expanded the range of benefits
they make available to employees, while the number who offer health and
wellness benefits has increased and the number who offer domestic partner
benefits has more than doubled. But a recent study of 1100 employers
commissioned by the Families and Work Institute reveals that the companies
most likely to offer flexible work arrangements for employees responsible
for children or aging parents are those headed by women or ethnic
minorities. The group's 1998 study found the same disparity. Its conclusion:
many firms' policies regarding work schedules reflect "a lingering [of]
societal standards that leave most family responsibilities to women, while
men are freed from that concern."
3. Slaying the Dragons Within
We all grow up hearing that life's victors are those who are willing to go
out and slay the dragons that sit between them and whatever the prize
happens to be. But according to a Registeredrep.com article, the deadliest
beasts lie within. The article describes seven dragons, or fatal behavioral
flaws, that can be career or relationship killers. Among these are
arrogance, impatience, and martyrdom. Each of the beasts are the negative
manifestation of some positive trait -- self-deprecation being the tendency
to take humility to the point where you trivialize your accomplishments or
offer apologies for your success. The good news is that each dragon can be
conquered.
4. New U.S. Rules Incite Court Skirmish Over Foreign Tech Workers
On 29 May, three worker advocacy agencies and 10 U.S. workers filed suit in
a U.S. federal court, asking that new regulations that extend the legal
non-immigrant status of foreign nationals educated in the United States to
nearly two and a half years beyond the completion of their degree
requirements be struck down. The new rule, introduced by the Department of
Homeland Security on 4 April, allows people with student visas who are
participating in a 12-month "Optional Practical Training" program under
which they are working for a U.S. employer in an area directly related to
their major area of study to apply for a 17-month extension. Supporters of
the rule say it will close the so-called "cap gap," during which prospective
H-1B visa holders see their student visas expire before their H-1B
authorizations take effect. The plaintiffs in the lawsuit charge that the
rule is simply an end run around the rules limiting the number of foreign
workers in technical specialties.

Female power is in. Deepika Padukone is busy matching Akshay Kumar's kicks and somersaults in Bangkok for Nikhil Advani's Chandni Chowk To China. Nearer home in Hyderabad Jiah Khan matched stunt strides with Aamir KhanThough thankfully she hasn't had any mishaps yet, Jiah's lithe stunts in Murughadoss' Ghajini are every bit as heart-in-the-mouth as Aamir Khan's.The only reason Jiah's action scenes aren't being talked-about are because she isn't talking about it. "I can't! I'm not allowed to," she quakes with contractual terror. "But yes I've done a lot of action scenes in Ghajini. They've been extremely unnerving."The action sequences require Jiah to match Aamir kick for kick. "And they are one reason I had to lose so weight," she admits having returned from Hyderabad where the Ghajini shooting was wrapped up earlier this. "The schedules don't suffer because of Aamir's accident at all. We resume in the middle of May as per schedule."On Tuesday Jiah started shooting in Mumbai for Ken Ghosh's film with Shahid Kapoor. "That's the film I'm not supposed to do," she jokes. "It's so cheap to send compromising messages in someone elese's name," Jiah suggests that the sms messages that embarrassed Shahid Kapoor and almost had her out of the project were sent off by someone else in her name. "I've never sent sms to people in the industry beyond work. I'm so new to all this manipulation scheming and negativity. I'm just so happy to be doing two films like Ghajini and Ken Ghosh' s film where I've completely different roles."
